Currently, artificial intelligence is applied to many aspects of the construction industry. With the ability to read, understand, and process information quickly and accurately, artificial intelligence can help project managers improve performance, construction quality, reduce risks, and optimize building construction process.
In the field of labor safety monitoring in construction, the development of artificial intelligence and advanced algorithms such as machine learning and deep learning have created many positive changes. A typical example is the application of AI to detect, identify, check, analyze images effectively and accurately, provide warnings about necessary changes, and improve safety monitoring, thereby contributing to minimizing risks and ensuring labor safety on construction sites.
In order to share research results related to the application of artificial intelligence in labor safety monitoring, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology in collaboration with Sungkyunkwan University, Korea, organized a symposium: “ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE APPLICATIONS FOR LABOUR SAFETY MONITORING IN SMART CONSTRUCTION.”
14:00, Saturday, 13 April 2024
Seminar Room, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Building B6, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, 268 Ly Thuong Kiet, Ward 14, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City
Please register to attend the event with us here: https://forms.gle/RUamkZRDLTkHMzfJ6
The symposium offers exchanges of knowledge and discussions around 4 research presentations including:
– Research presentation 1: Deep learning-based pose estimation for identifying potential fall hazards of construction worker – Dr. Minsoo Park, Sungkyunkwan University
– Research presentation 2: Damage Detection on Reuse Scaffolding Materials Using Magnetic Leakage Flux Method – Hansun Kim, Sungkyunkwan University
– Research presentation 3: Development of a machine learning-based construction disaster prediction model using structured and unstructured data from construction sites – Mingeon Cho, Sungkyunkwan University
– Research presentation 4: NVIDIA Omniverse-based approach for generating auto-labelled synthetic data for object detection in construction site – Khoa Vo Tran Dang Sungkyunkwan University.
At the symposium, representatives of Sungkyunkwan University, Korea will provide information related to recruiting personnel for the Smart Construction IT Laboratory. This is an open opportunity for those pursuing Construction Management and Computer Science.
