A MEMORABLE AND MEANINGFUL LEARNING JOURNEY AT HCMUT

As a consulting design engineer in the construction field, Ivan realized the importance of ensuring that the solutions he designs are effectively implemented. That’s why he decided to join the BK-IMP Program in Construction Management to gain additional knowledge and skills necessary for his work.

Ivan is one of the students who received a full scholarship for the BK-IMP Program in Construction Management through the Collaborative Education Program (CEP) between HCMUT, Yokohama National University, Yangon Technological University, and JFE Steel Corporation. Speaking about this, he shared: “The scholarship provided me with positive values, particularly an openness to new changes. I embraced the opportunities and meaningful changes that came my way, even after a decade of career development. These aspects have broadened my mind and led me towards a better development path.”

Ivan’s learning journey was particularly challenging when he had to spend a certain time fighting with Covid-19. “Even when I was ill, I maintained a positive attitude. The difficulties did not stop me from acquiring new knowledge during my time at HCMUT,” Ivan shared.

“The curriculum is connected with the knowledge I gained during my undergraduate program and my professional practice. I participated in numerous seminars and class presentations throughout my studies, which significantly boosted my confidence. The quality of education exceeded my expectations, enabling me to confidently apply classroom knowledge to real-world practice. The learning environment is truly dynamic and enjoyable; everyone is kind, approachable, and knowledgeable. My learning journey at HCMUT has been truly memorable and meaningful,” Ivan expressed when asked about his learning experiences in the BK-IMP Program.

Regarding his plans after completing the program, he mentioned that he intends to continue developing his career in his field of expertise and wishes to share the valuable knowledge he gained from the BK-IMP Program. “If I have the opportunity to pursue higher education, I will consider making a suitable choice,” Ivan shared.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE APPLICATIONS FOR LABOUR SAFETY MONITORING IN SMART CONSTRUCTION

Currently, artificial intelligence is applied to many aspects of the construction industry. With the ability to read, understand, and process information quickly and accurately, artificial intelligence can help project managers improve performance, construction quality, reduce risks, and optimize building construction process.

In the field of labor safety monitoring in construction, the development of artificial intelligence and advanced algorithms such as machine learning and deep learning have created many positive changes. A typical example is the application of AI to detect, identify, check, analyze images effectively and accurately, provide warnings about necessary changes, and improve safety monitoring, thereby contributing to minimizing risks and ensuring labor safety on construction sites.

In order to share research results related to the application of artificial intelligence in labor safety monitoring, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology in collaboration with Sungkyunkwan University, Korea, organized a symposium: “ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE APPLICATIONS FOR LABOUR SAFETY MONITORING IN SMART CONSTRUCTION.”

– Research presentation 4: NVIDIA Omniverse-based approach for generating auto-labelled synthetic data for object detection in construction site – Khoa Vo Tran Dang Sungkyunkwan University.

At the symposium, representatives of Sungkyunkwan University, Korea will provide information related to recruiting personnel for the Smart Construction IT Laboratory. This is an open opportunity for those pursuing Construction Management and Computer Science.

🌐Bach Khoa International Master Program (BK-IMP) – Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology is a pioneering and prestigious program in the field of master’s training in engineering and management. This is a formal, international program with a constantly updated curriculum, with addition of new technological and management knowledge, highly applicable in practical work. In addition, with the combination of lecturers from HCMUT and leading professors with extensive practical experience from abroad, BK-IMP will be an ideal choice to enhance career opportunities, leadership abilities and entrepreneurial skills for students.

APPLICATION OF INDUSTRY 4.0 TECHNOLOGY IN TRANSPORTATION PROJECTS

With the rapid growth of transportation demand and the number of vehicles, the construction of key transportation infrastructure is still in its infancy. Construction is a necessary condition, while new management, operation and maintenance are the conditions for all routes to be completely and safely serviced. Therefore, the development of information technology science is regarded as the correct answer, which not only helps to release human labor force and ensure accuracy, but also provides-updates-accurately processes information at the best speed.

Future urban management problems will be based on information technology, telecommunications and artificial intelligence. Therefore, every process of technology application research is highly concentrated, aiming at achieving the goal of effective operation and maintenance of traffic routes. A typical example is RTI-IMS management system, which automatically identifies pavement damage and evaluates the quality of traffic routes during mining. Among them, research software is developed based on new technologies such as Yolo V5, GPS, IoT and big data.

In order to introduce new technologies in the field of building management, International Master program BK-IMP, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, VNU HCMC will hold a seminar entitled “Applying 4.0 Technology to Transportation Projects”. The seminar will help to better understand how RTI IMS system uses four modern technologies to connect data information, process data and propose the results of damaged locations in the transportation infrastructure network.

The seminar will consist of two parts:

Part I: Application of Industry 4.0 Technology in Transportation Projects – An Application of Yolo V5 Model on RTI-IMS Software for Identifying Road Surface Damages

Part 2: Visit Ben Thanh Station under Urban Railway Project No. 1, Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien, Ben Thanh Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
